Mr. Elam is a retired Police Chief for the City of Canton, Illinois. Mr. Elam spent nearly 30 years as a municipal and county police officer. During his tour of duty, Mr. Elam held the ranks of Deputy Sheriff, Patrol Officer, Detective, Administrative Assistant, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and retired in 2002 as a Certified Chief of Police by the Illinois Associations of Chiefs of Police.
Mr. Elam is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University Executive Management Program, Mid-States Law Enforcement Executive Development Program and numerous other law enforcement training programs.
During his law enforcement career Mr. Elam received several awards including The Silver Star for Bravery, and two Police Officer Of The Year awards.
Mr. Elam has conducted and managed successful investigations in a wide variety of crimes including homicides.
David Pickel, Office Manager
As office manager for Elam Private Detective Inc, Dave coordinates all Process Service and Security details, does computer background checks and assists in investigations for the agency.
In addition to his work as an agent for Elam Private Detective, Inc., Dave operates his own photographic portrait studio.
In 1998 Dave was recognized as a "Certified Professional Photographer" by the Professional Photographers of America. He was awarded his Master of Photography by the PPA in 2004 and was accepted into the American Society of Photographers that same year.
Prior to starting his own business Dave was the staff photographer for the Canton Daily Ledger, where he received several state-wide awards for, sports, feature and news photography.
Dave is a member of Professional Photographers of America and the Associated Professional Photographers of Illinois, where he currently serves on the Executive Board as treasurer.
